Alas, installing a custom firmware is not super accessible for the average non geek. And according the Discord you mention, it doesn't seem like the developers of the Mods are willing to make it more accessible. I miss the first times of Internet where collaborating and exchanging were a thing... Nowadays it feels more like a thing has a price or stays in the area of expertise of the few ones.

Hi @moonhead Oh I didn't realise it was such a barrier. Yes, it can be tedious to install an unofficial firmware and it'll remain that way for a while. These "developers" are just guys with AI subscriptions doing this for fun and sharing it for free.
Luckily for non-savvy folk we're in an age where when you don't know something... you simply ask. If you're ready for a bit of head-scratching to figure it out then paste one of the mod's githubs e.g. A remixer for the Elektron Octatrack's OS: modules (custom DSP56300 effects, ColdFire mods, ports of community mods) composed into one firmware image built from your own 1.40C. No firmware distributed.

Every one of us had to learn how to DIY, if you're not interested in that then I'd stick with the official FW. When products spoon feed a handy install file that's when they'd charge you. i live in a country where discord is banned for millions of people. guess what chatgpt is also banned. claude is also banned. but i can read and write code fluently... i dont need llm. besides that you are young? i am ooold and my mother could be your grand grand mother. she used computer before you where born. should i give her a linux a tell her dont cry this century llm can explain you everything? of course not she is my mother, I buy her a mac, and teach her to use it like a little kid. not everybody has your resources, not everybody knows how to start from nothing. some people need starting points. you tell people without bikes to learn ride a bike on their own or swimming. you are not a good swimming teacher, we are not birds who are kicking babys out of the nest. and i manged to to join disocrd over rdp, a bunch toxic guys, typical nerds who hate noobs i out grew that shit. bulletin boards are the way to go kid. you only see the world trough your eyes, try to look trough different pairs.
